Pollença - Sa Calobra - pollença Loop
Sa Calobra guided ride from the beautiful Pollença: The Pollença to Sa Calobra loop is 90 kilometres of everything that makes Mallorca the best cycling island in the world. Starting in the ancient walled town of Pollença in the north of the island, the route heads south through the Tramuntana foothills, climbing past the Coll de Sa Batalla and up to the flanks of Puig Major — the highest peak in Mallorca. From there, the descent into Sa Calobra begins.
The Sa Calobra descent is 10 kilometres of tight switchbacks, soaring cliff faces, and views over the Torrent de Pareis gorge that make most cyclists stop mid-road just to take it in. It is the kind of road that makes you ride slower not because you have to, but because you do not want it to end.
At the bottom: the sea. A moment to breathe. Then the climb back up.
The ascent from Sa Calobra is where this route earns its reputation. 700 metres of elevation over 10 kilometres, averaging 7% with sections at 10%. It demands everything you have — and gives back something you will not forget.
After the summit, a coffee and pastry stop at a carefully chosen local cafe before the final roll back to Pollença through the northern Tramuntana.

The Sa Calobra Experience
The climb itself.
Sa Calobra rises 680 metres over 9.4 kilometres from sea level to the Coll dels Reis. The first two kilometres are steady and manageable. Past the 6 kilometre mark the road becomes completely exposed — hairpin after hairpin carved into open rock, the sea dropping away below you, the gradient creeping toward 10 and 12% on the upper sections. The final flourish is the Nus de Sa Corbata, a 270-degree spiral where the road loops back underneath itself before the last push to the summit. It is the most photographed section of road on the island, and it earns that.
The descent.
The descent back to sea level is technical and completely yours. Your guide rides it with you, reads the road, and sets a pace that matches your comfort level. No buses to negotiate if we time it right. No stress.
Before and after.
Getting to Sa Calobra is a ride in itself. Depending on your starting point and fitness level, we build the approach route around you — through the Tramuntana, past quiet villages, with the right amount of climbing before the main event. The return leg gives you time to feel what you just did and enjoy the roads back.
